Estate Collection of Ducks Unlimited Prints, Decoys & Hunting Guns
For more than 30 years, Mr. Dan Denton devoted both his career and private time to the charitable organization Ducks Unlimited, “The Leader in Wildlife Conservation.” The mark of Dan’s hard work for ducks and wetlands is forever noted by the Dan Denton Waterfowl Area, at the Oconee WMA in Georgia, as well as a Dan Denton Memorial Nature Trail in McClusky, North Dakota.
After Mr. Denton’s death in 2004, his son Jason, became the custodian of his father’s extensive Ducks Unlimited art collection. Explained Jason, “My dad would attend hundreds of Ducks Unlimited Banquets and events throughout the year. If a Ducks Unlimited print was going for less than he thought it should, he would bid on the print and purchase it himself. He truly believed in the cause, and supported it with both his time and money. As result of these efforts, he ended his 32 year career with an extensive art collection.”
Now, 10 years after his father’s passing, Jason Denton is putting up the entire collection for auction. He has reached out to Amy Martin Auctions of Atlanta, GA to coordinate the sale of more than 1700 pieces of Ducks Unlimited Art and his father’s personal hunting guns. All items have been continuously stored in a climate-controlled setting.
In honor of Dan Denton’s devotion to the charitable organization, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to Ducks Unlimited.
The auction will be online-only, “absolute” (all the items will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price), open for bidding starting Wednesday, July 9th and starting to close on Saturday, July 19th.
