Evening of Spectacles Raises $240,000

Amy Martin and George Franco were the auctioneers and masters of ceremony for the Evening of Spectacles held at the Buckhead Theatre this year on April 27, 2013 sponsored by the Georgia Lighthouse Lion’s Club. This spectacular event raised $240,000 for an organization that is able  to provide $5 worth of eyeglasses, eye surgeries and hearing aids to Georgians in financial need for every $1 raised.

The Evening of Spectacles is a benefit event that, in addition to a live and silent auction, includes a  fashion show in which students across Georgia, from Atlanta to Savannah, created clothing from used eyeglasses. The winner of the fashion show was presented with a $1000 check form McGee Eyegroup.
